In Part I of this series, “Generate free consumer leads online,” we spoke about doing a generic search of homes for sale in the desired area you wish to find sales leads. We then showed you to take the basic information such as an address and find corresponding telephone numbers and additional contact information. There are a few additional ways to search “homes’’ that return different results.
Homes for sale BY Owner
In a basic search to generate online leads of homeowners and sellers, you will usually not get hits of sellers who do not have their homes listed with a real estate agency. While many sellers use real estate companies to assist in the sale of their home, many opt to sell the home on their own. These people may list their home with a “For Sale By Owner (FSBO)” site or list their home online independently. Therefore, for a complete search, also enter a search for these sellers. From your favorite search engine, enter “homes for sale by owner,” and follow the same steps. Often homes for sale by owner will offer information and contact information that is more complete rather than only that of the listing agency.
A Multiple Listing Service or MLS is a group of services that involve real estate agents, brokers, appraisers and other agencies that compile and list homes for sale. You may find homes listed on an MLS that also may not show up on a basic search for homes for sale.
New and Sold homes listing
Finally, depending on the demographics of the sales leads you are trying to generate online, you may want to search for “new homes” “new home construction” and “sold homes.” A new homeowner is a potential prospect for almost any consumer product sold today. Simply go to your favorite search engine, enter, “sold homes,” or “recently sold homes” in your desired area, and find a wealth of valuable leads. Enter those addresses into an online reverse directory and voila, you now have a name and telephone number. Happy Selling!
